Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
0 CommentsPosted by Battle4NET on April 7, 2011 under PC PreviewsThis is not your father's Ghost Recon. In fact, it's barely Ghost Recon at all, bearing absolutely no resemblance to the squad-based tactical shooters on PC and consoles. But however tenuous the connection, Shadow Wars is a game that deserves plenty of attention on 3DS.It plays a bit like a slower-paced Advance Wars, with just six main units to move on each turn and loads more variables to consid... more. -

Preview: Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes HD

If you haven’t played Might Magic: Clash of Heroes, the Capybara Games-developed and Ubisoft-published Nintendo DS game quietly released in late 2009, then shame on you. Clash of Heroes mixed puzzle game elements with tactical gameplay, and threw in more than a smidgen of role-playing goodness. The result was one of the most original and addictive titles on Nintendo’s handheld. So again, i... more. -
Shift 2 Unleashed Review
0 CommentsPosted by Battle4NET on March 30, 2011 under PC Previews
The overall structure of Shift 2 is much like its predecessor: starting you as a rookie driver and tasking you with earning your stripes through a series of open and closed events. Sometimes you'll be in cars that came out of your garage, sometimes in rides borrowed from someone else. Regardless of whether or not you own them, rest assured that all of the 140ish cars represented here all fully det... more. -
Early Nintendo 3DS buyers guide
0 CommentsPosted by Battle4NET on March 26, 2011 under DS PreviewsI am getting the Nintendo 3DS on Sunday, March 27, right at the open of my local Gamestop where I preordered the system. I’m getting Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Edition with it. I will also be picking up a package of screen protectors for the system. Some of you may be picking up a DS for the first time with a 3DS or you’re upgrading from a previous version. You’ll want to know what ... more. -
Crysis 2 Review
0 CommentsPosted by Battle4NET on March 26, 2011 under PC Previews
Around an hour before Crysis 2's single-player campaign is finished, a character utters the perfect phrase to summarize the universe created by developer Crytek: "This isn't war. This is the future." It's a summary that fits with the developer's thoughts on both game engine and gameplay design. Though there may have been fears that bringing Crysis 2 to consoles would turn it into another milita... more. -
preview: Red Johnson’s Chronicles

“Red who?” That’s what I was thinking when I received an invitation, the night before the Game Developer’s Conference, to meet with Lexis Numérique’s Djamil Kemal to see Red Johnson’s Chronicles for PlayStation 3. I may not have recognized Red’s name, but I certainly knew of the French developer behind such unusual PC adventures as Missing: Since January and The Experiment. Since... more. -
Homefront Soundtrack review
0 CommentsPosted by Battle4NET on March 17, 2011 under PC Previews
Sumthing Else Music sent over the Homefront soundtrack for us to check out. The game, from THQ and developer Kaos Studios, is now available and I thought I would squeeze off this review. The Homefront soundtrack starts off with Stand your Ground from Matthew Harwood and Scott Cresswell. Cresswell did the vocals, guitar and bass on the song and it reminds me of a slightly updated version of the ... more. -
Dragon Quest VI: Realms Of Revelation Review
0 CommentsPosted by Battle4NET on March 17, 2011 under DS Previews
Dragon Quest is an age old series dating back far beyond many of our memories. It was the original RPG that stood alongside Final Fantasy. Now Nintendo and Square-Enix are partnering to release the old titles in a new light on the DS handheld platform. Previously Dragon Quest IX was available and garnered heavily positive reviews. Does Dragon Quest VI live up to that same caliber of RPG or... more.
