  • What I’d like to see in a new Apple TV

0 CommentsPosted by on February 16, 2012 under DS Reviews
Apple's streaming-video box could get a lot better with a few improvements. The Apple TV could be even better with voice control, cross-platform search, and true apps. (Credit: Apple) Rumors were abuzz earlier this week about a possible refresh of the Apple TV set-top box, as retailers are running out of existing stock. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if there's a new Apple TV coming soon, si... more.

The Samsung Galaxy Note ($300 with a two-year contract; price as of February 14, 2012) has been out for a while internationally, but on February 19, the 5.3-inch phone with a stylus-like pen will arrive on U.S. shores exclusively on ATT’s 4G LTE network. After Galaxy Note commercials appeared during the Super Bowl, Twitter users joked that it resembled a Palm Pilot. The Galaxy Note might have a... more.

The PSP never exploded. The Nintendo 3DS is a letdown. Now it's 2012, and Sony has the chance for a clean start that'll put console-caliber games in your bag. It does—but does a pocketable console really make sense anymore? Why It Matters The point of the Game Gear, Game Boy, DS, and everything else that's followed is to give you the same fun you'd have holding a controller in your liv... more.

Sony knows its way around a games console – the electronics giant has seen incredible success for more than a decade with the PlayStation, PS2 and PS3, but has so far struggled to break into the handheld market dominated by its rival Nintendo. Its first attempt, the PSP, was by no means a failure, but it couldn’t match the phenomenal success of the DS. Sony hasn’t taken this defeat lyin... more.
  • REVIEW – Rhythm Heaven Fever

The first in the Rhythm Heaven franchise to see a launch in North America happened for the Nintendo DS back in April of 2009. It was, truly, unlike any other game on the American market. Perhaps the only series comparable to Rhythm Heaven is WarioWare. WarioWare is all about wacky mini-games based in a zany art style. Sometimes those games are rhythmic in nature, and other times they are based... more.
  • Rhythm Heaven Fever review: Crazy into you

I hold Rhythm Heaven games to a high standard. The DS game became such a fixture in my life that it permanently wired rhythms into my brain. Months after the last time I picked it up, I'll still randomly "scratch-o, hey" or hit imaginary taiko drums in my head. I'm predisposed to seek music games with original music anyway (Parappa, Gitaroo-Man) as it is, and Rhythm Heaven is among th... more.
  • iPad App Video Review: Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is an absolutely amazing new release from Capcom. It was originally released just over a year ago as a Nintendo DS title, and finally made its way to iOS. The concept is highly original, the puzzle mechanics are clever, the art style is colorful and unique with super smooth character animations, I could go on and on. This title may not appeal to every gamer f... more.

  • Nintendo DS: 100 Year Old Granny Loves Playing the Nintendo DS

The usual question to people who have reached at least the eighties would be “What is your secret to long life?” The usual answer would be a narration of good living, healthy food, exercise and the like. You know the drill. What if you ask our dear grannies and grandpas this question instead? : “What makes you enjoy life more?” You may also ask, “What keeps your mind sharp... more.
